Why are your services so much cheaper?

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a nice website.  Using freely available templates, shared hosting, and open source code, we can do almost anything online, limited only by our imagination.

What is WordPress and who else uses it?

WordPress is a powerful free software offering state-of-the-art publsihing on the web.  It’s commonly used by millions of bloggers.  However, some big names that use WordPress include Ford, MarthaStewart, Airforce, MTV, and many many more.

Do I own the Website’s domain name?

Yes.  All domain names will be registered to you and only you.  If I currently own the domain, then I will “push” it into your account (godaddy.com) so that you will become the owner.

Where will my website be hosted?

Your website will be hosted by Hostgator.  As a reseller for Hostgator, I will be responsible for collecting the annual fee.  After the first year, you will be free to host your website anywhere you wish, although I hope you’ll stay with us.

What if I need to make changes to my website?

You should be able to easily make changes to your website at anytime by simply logging into your account and selecting the page you wish to update.  You’ll be presented with a word processor “like” interface that will allow you to make changes as easily as you would an email or any other document.  However, if you ever get stuck, don’t hesitate to contact me.  As my personal customer, you’ll have my direct cell phone and email contact information.

Can you build more advanced sites with shopping carts and other features?

Although I’ve built some very advanced sites with database intensive backends, including shopping carts, customer records and registration, my focus is on small businesses that want a basic informational website and don’t need all that other stuff.  WordPress has many advanced features available that should meet the needs of most small businesses.
